We got down on our hands and knees and did the work ourselves.  The donated materials from the CDC warehouse were greatly appreciated especially because ABHA is a volunteer-based organization that depends on funds from members and donations from outside sources.  We are currently not open on a daily basis but that is the long-term goalWe are looking for people interested in working here on a volunteer basis, but until then we will have our doors open whenever possible to welcome visitors. Tooele

Safi is originally from Sudan, one of those countries that has had many years of brutal civil war of political and ethnic conflict.  She lived there in a home with her extended family.  But, in 1997 she, along with her family, were driven out of their homeland fearing for their lives. Rose Park

Two years ago the International Rescue Committee was finally able to resettle Amos and his family as refugees in Utah.  They arrived with nothing, moved into a large inexpensive but rough apartment complex, Amos got a good job building window frames for Amsco Windows, Doris got a job with WalMart, the children started school, and they began adjusting to their new life here.   Read the entire story...
